Innate immunity is how the body defends itself based on the innate structure and physiology of the body. It includes blocking infection because of the barrier formed from skin or from stomach acid killing invaders. It is non-selective and works against everything somewhat impartially.
Adaptive immunity are the immune responses of the body that are mediated by B-Cells and T-cells that work to kill antigens.
